Jared has been a lifelong resident in the Peoria area. Inspired by his father who was an Army aviator, he decided to pursue a career in aviation. He joined the Byerly team in 1997 at the age of 18 working as a line service technician. While gaining experience in the general aviation industry at Byerly he pursued his passion for flying airplanes, earning his pilot’s license in 2000 and his commercial pilot’s license in 2004. He later joined the Byerly flight department and flew as captain for several years. In 2016 he accepted an offer to fly at a regional airline where he flew as a Chicago based Captain on a 50 seat jet. In 2020 Jared had the opportunity rejoin the Byerly team and took on the role of Chief Pilot. He has an Airline Transport and Flight Instructor ratings.
